Free Smog Testing Hosted at College of the Sequoias in Visalia
Non-profit Group Hosts "Tune In & Tune Up" Event to Encourage Car Cleanups
Free smog testing and repair program hosted by Valley CAN (Clean Air Now) and the Advanced Transportation Technology (ATT) Center of College of the Sequoias. Initial emission tests will be conducted in seconds using a remote sensing device. If necessary, cars will proceed to the on-site diagnostic station. Data collected from the tests will be analyzed and a report will be provided. If the vehicle does not pass the smog test, Valley CAN and ATT will provide a coupon for up to $500 worth of smog repairs at a local Gold Shield certified smog check station. No paperwork or reporting is part of this process!
Participants also may qualify to participate in the Bureau of Automotive Repair’s (BAR) Consumer Assistance Program (CAP). BAR may pay for up to $500 in emission related repairs to qualified motorists. Or, in exchange for their polluting vehicle, qualified participants will receive $1,000! Community booths also will be on hand and FREE HOT DOGS and SODAS will be provided.
